“If the mountains bow in reverence, so will I!” I tuned in from my hotel room on ‘Facebook live’ as the Soul Church Worship Team sang so powerfully this morning (oh the wonders of modern technology). This line jumped off the stage and penetrated my spirit!
I declare today as you bow in surrender to Almighty God, your loving Heavenly Father, every mountain, obstacle, problem, sickness you are facing will bow before you! Stand strong, walk on confidently, God is breaking through and making a way for you! Mountains bow, mountains move, mountains only serve to make way for the miraculous in your life.
I was reminded again of the beautiful Palm Tree. It symbolises peace, plenty, power and longevity. It can survive the desert, and flourish in the face of any mountain as its roots go deeper; beyond the hot, dry sand to draw water from the depths. Through the storms of life the Palm Tree will still be standing – it knows to bend and not break in adversity. It grows upwards towards the sun and saves its best fruit for last! Keep looking and growing upwards towards Jesus, the Darling of Heaven, God’s beautiful Son and our Saviour, allow what you’re going through to mature you and make you better, not bitter. No wonder the Bible says “the righteous shall flourish like a Palm tree…”!
Nothing can pull a child of God down or take you out! I have proved with JESUS as your centre and source you won’t just survive, but like the palm tree, you will flourish and thrive in times of drought! Whatever mountain your standing in front of today, bend your will in surrender to the one who loves you – He made you and nothing will break you! Whatever was meant to harm you will rebound to bless you and make you!
Get ready to bounce back stronger, go further, reach higher; shout his praise and declare God’s miracle working power louder, for finally, the palm tree is a symbol of victory! What are you doing down there child of God, with one voice let me hear you say “I’m getting up, growing up, going up for this mountain is mine to take and overcome! God is with me and nothing can stand before or against me! What is your name, mountain? Fear, intimidation, sickness, injustice, bereavement, failure, disappointment, sadness, depression; I wear a name greater than yours, His name is Jesus, His name is VICTORY! What is your name, mountain? I call you a plain; a place where disappointment meets God’s appointment, despair meets God’s tender loving care, and the impossible is made possible! My life, every mountain before me and every circumstance, will SHOUT His praise!” I love the prophetic this picture portrays, you’re a child of God and just like the palm tree God will cause you to flourish in the face of every mountain!
Psalm 30:11-12 NLT
[11] You have turned my mourning into joyful dancing. You have taken away my clothes of mourning and clothed me with joy, [12] that I might sing praises to you and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give you thanks forever!
God is calling His children not to be issue based but God focused and people based! In Psalm 23 God promises “He prepares a table before me in the presence of my enemies”. We don’t run from adverse circumstances, as citizens of heaven we dwell in blessing, prosperity, provision, faith, love, joy and confidence in the middle of our circumstances.
For those who are aware of our current journey here in Marriott Hotels, Mould & Miracles… and Overflow Everywhere You Go…in the midst of our ‘homeless’ scenario and some of the battles of hotel living, we didn’t runaway but ‘stayed the course’. Top tip, whatever mountain or battle you face, separate the issue from the people. The people God loves and in the same way God shows love and forgiveness, we must choose to live in love and forgiveness too. I believe that is why we have retained such good relationships with the staff and hotel management here because we have always separated the issue from the people. As I said to the Hotel Manager last week in conversation “I have a simple life motto (it’s a Biblical one), to owe no-one anything but the debt of love”! You should try responding in love to people where they expect to be met with anger, offence and resentment, it’s an environment changer and a mountain mover! You do not need to accept the issues you are called to bring change to but you do need to always act from a position of love and forgiveness. God is love and He alone has the power to do that through you. In the midst of the circumstances that rise like mountains before you, God prepares a table of good things! Feed on His goodness, blessings, Word, strength, forgiveness and love; then what anyone would think should naturally harm you will supernaturally make you stronger, before the eyes of a watching world! Don’t just take my word for it, take God’s word for it:
Psalm 31:19-24 NLT
[19] How great is the goodness you have stored up for those who fear (revere and worship) you. You lavish it on those who come to you for protection, blessing them before the watching world. [20] You hide them in the shelter of your presence, safe from those who conspire against them. You shelter them in your presence, far from accusing tongues. [21] Praise the LORD, for he has shown me the wonders of his unfailing love. He kept me safe when my city was under attack. [22] In panic I cried out, “I am cut off from the LORD!” But you heard my cry for mercy and answered my call for help. [23] Love the LORD, all you godly ones! For the LORD protects those who are loyal to him, but he harshly punishes the arrogant. [24] So be strong and courageous, all you who put your hope in the LORD.
Embrace God’s ‘super’ in your ‘natural’ today, it is heaven’s key to supernatural living. Whatever mountain is before you; bow to love, forgiveness, trust in God’s goodness, feast on His Word and manifest His ways! This brings me full circle to the beginning “If the mountains bow in reverence, so will I”!
I can hear heaven say “You’re a Winner today, my child, it’s in your spiritual DNA”!
OPTIONAL PRAYER
Heavenly Father,
“If the mountains bow in reverence so will I.” I bow before you today, I come humbly in worship and thank you that because of Jesus, victory is in my DNA! You call my a Winner so I will rise up in your strength and do what winners do; live life to the full in every circumstance, love unconditionally and win – for you have already fought and won every battle for me at Calvary. Dirty devil and every adverse situation, may I remind you of the victory of the cross and the blood of Jesus that still speaks triumphantly over every mountain known to man today. Victory has a name, His name is Jesus! Amen
