The words from heaven that rocked my world, left me undone, overcome by the wealth Jesus died to give to you and me – an epiphany moment that literally changed something inside me forever and set me free! I pray you will be too as you receive The Lord’s prophetic message today, “YOU BEAR MY SURNAME”!
The Apostle Paul described himself as a ‘pure blooded citizen of Israel’, with the highest family line credentials and a CV that would be the envy of the highest flyers of his day! He must’ve had a similar epiphany to the one that forever transformed me, when he penned the words:
“We rely on what Christ Jesus has done for us. We put no confidence in human effort, though I could have confidence in my own effort if anyone could. I am a pure-blooded citizen of Israel and a member of the tribe of Benjamin—a real Hebrew if there ever was one! I was a member of the Pharisees… and as for righteousness, I obeyed the law without fault. I once thought these things were valuable, but now I consider them worthless [like dung/manure] because of what Christ has done. Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For His sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ and become one with him.” Philippians 3:3-9 NLT
If it was good enough for our fore-runner Paul, it’s good enough, indeed vital, for you and me! I know I’m in good company as I let go of all else, and count it as worthless in comparison to growing in knowing Jesus and wearing His name, the name above every name, across my life! I bear my heavenly Father’s surname, of the bloodline of Jesus Christ, born again of the Holy Spirit into the family of God! Oh the wonder of it all…! Will you join me…?
